Simple Co. Real Estate was founded on the belief that nice guys don't have to finish last. After 7 years in business, I felt conflicted. I was finding success, consistently ranked in the top 10% of agents in my region, but something wasn't right. I was still struggling to find my identity in the idustry and frankly I just didn't fit in/ What I knew was, my current business model wasn't right. I was doing all I had been told to grow; recruit agents, buy leads, lease an office, hire support staff. Maybe it was working (we did $20mil in sales that year) but I wasn't happy.

So, I shut it all down to start fresh. After closing that business, my wife and I spent several months considering what went wrong. Why wasn't I happy? Why didn't I feel at peace with what we were doing?

The answer was... Simple. I was feeling conflicted between my desire to build genuine relationships and this sense that I needed to buy leads, create a large online presence and grow. Ultimately, the founder made the decision to close the business and reevaluate.
